First Night/Day 1
Well since we live right in Camden we brought our stuff down Sunday night. Every one for our trip boarded that night except Mr. Clark. He came on at breakfast time Monday morning. We had a range of ages on this cruise which was a Nature and Photography Cruise. From age 3(the son of the naturalist), all up to age 80. But Mr. Clark was not the oldest. We had a wonderful intrepid traveler with us who was 93!!! It was a nice blend of seeing the sights like light houses and seeing seals, porpoise and birds that live on the water and rocks off our coast and Osprey.
We had head to head bunks this time and I must admit this years cabin was even better then I expected. We had a a lot more head room. The first night I had a bit of trouble with the "feeling like I was getting crushed" I woke up, heart rate going like a freight engine. I had to lay on my bunk with the flash light on for a while. But after a day at sea, breathing the salt air you hit the bunk and you are out like a light.
If you ever go on one of these cruises you will never go away hungry. You will probably gain a few pounds. Our cook Ena who turned 21 on the cruise is worth her weight in gold!
Monday morning.
Woke up to fog and drizzle and we hadn't left Camden harbor yet... So after breakfast and introductions down in the galley I decided my feet were really very cold and Bob said "call Shafi and have him bring your wellies." So I did. I will post a picture of my outfit that kept me warm the first few days.
We ended up having a down pour for a few hours while still in Camden. It finally stopped and we were able to get under way though still very foggy. We listened to our horn for the majority of the day as we sailed. First anchorage, Pulpit Harbor, North Haven, Maine
