Mini Slayer in training

Buffy The Yarn Slayer...

I was down in the living room with the younger boys when Ian said "Look Mom!" There was my Alpaca yarn down the full length of the stairs. we followed it up and found Buffy doing his darndest to slay that damn yarn...
" Where's my damn stake when I need it?" Said the gallant slayer.
You see vampires are not around enough for Buffy so he has to go out and slay what he can... What's a cat to do?

Saturdays...

How is it, that even though it's a Saturday and I want to sleep late I can't...  Well I guess 6am is later then the regular 4:30am that I get up most mornings. If I am not up the dogs start to bark at the bottom of the stairs and then the cats claw at the door...
My writing was interupted last week when my 3 year old laptop crashed. LOL I  panicked. I'm doing a major project/book that my son Bren and I am working together on and all of a sudden it's gone. I'm on the phone in panic mode with Bren. My husband says "It will be OK. We'll bring it in they can get back your work." I always back up my work, but the thing crashed before I could... That was last Thursday and by Tuesday I had my laptop. The man at the computer repair place wanted to put my book on a thumb drive for me so I could work on it but I told him writing in Bob's office doesn't do anything for me. I like to have windows to look out at... might sound strange but that's me. Anyway I had a ton of research I could do and will be researching as I write. If I have my way it's gonna be two rather big books. Maybe not as big as Diana Gabaldon's 'Outlander' series but I can picture two books.
Working with words I will be thinking of a piece I want to write and then instead of writing breeze I think of another word, zephyr... I love working with words.
Well knitting wise I am working on my three projects. My bright pink will be a square for an afghan, then I'm almost done with another hat in the Burly Spun, in periwinckle. Then I'm still working slowly on the Baby Alpaca hat. Need to get a couple of those done for when Bob and I fly out to Oregon the last part of June to see his family. His parents moved out last year to be closer to his sister Nancy. She races Alpacas on top of being a Prof at George Fox University.
Well I will close down. I hear noises somewhere in the house and I have pancakes to make for everyone. Pat has his friend Anthony over so they will wake up soon looking for food.

Happy Spring

A new hat in Periwinckle My hat that I am working on in Baby Alpaca .I just love that bright pink. My favorite color of all!!! It will be a swatch or maybe a square for an Afghan...

My brave little patch of Crocus's on my front lawn that I will transplant to safer grounds this week-end.

Well I haven't a computer of my own. Mine crashed yesterday so Bob has taken it to the doctor to see if the small bit of writing I did yesterday(5 pages) can be salvaged... I now have  a new laptop on my wish list.

I have pictures that I want to post here of my knitting works in progress. It helps when I need to relax to have something to pull out and work on.
Also I have a list of books or authors who I really like. Some old favorites that I have read over and over again. Some that I have just finished and have moved me.
Any books by: Gene Stratton Porter, (she wrote the turn of the last Century)
Any books by LM Montgomery, The Anne of Green Gables series to name one of her series. They are timeless classics that I can read over and over and still really enjoy. Her book Rainbow Valley can make me laugh out loud. The imagination her kids had...
The Outlander Series by Diana Gabaldon, I'm re-reading that..." OMG" is all I can say about Jamie F.!!!
Elizabeth Peters, Her Amelia Peabody series set in Egypt at the turn of the last Century. In her newest book she will be showcasing my Great Uncle George Reisner who was a German American Egyptolgist that spent over 40 years in Cairo in the shadow of the Great Pyramids. He was also curator of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston all those years from around 1902 till his death in the 40s. He also taught at the University of Berlin. During the First World War , though American by birth(His parents came over from Germany) he sided with the Kaiser. The Second World War he sided with the Americans BUT stayed out of it and stayed right in Cario. He was married to my Grand Father's Sister (my mother's Aunt).
Also Barbara Michael's books( she is also Elizabeth Peters).
Janet Evanovich's Plum Series, She is a HOOT!!!!
Any books by :
Laura Kinsale, Lorretta Chase (Mr. Perfect is set in Egypt) love that book  and Lisa Kleypas (Romance at it's BEST!!!)
The Book Three Cups of tea, by Greg Mortenson
The Gurnsey Lit. and Potato Peel Society
Sarah's Key, by Tatiana De Rosnay. You won't be the same after reading that.
Casting Off by Nicole R. Dickson. It's a gem!!
Any of the Jane Austen novels
The Twilight series
Anything by Dan Brown
David McCullough. Two time Pulitzer prize Winner. Lives part time in Camden.
One time I was food shopping with Marykate and we came around the corner in the grosery store and there he was with his wife. Well I got all("There's David McCullough, OMG..." and explaining to MK how I love his books ,blah... well he smiled at me and went to the next aisle... MaryKate says "I'm going to say hi and tell him how much you love his books..." She runs off. I am standing there looking like ten kinds of stupid and then she comes running back and say this is what he said...
"Hello Mr McCullough. My Mom really loves your books... "
He says with his wife smiling on in the back. "Oh, I'm not Mr M. BUT we love his books too!!"
Well I had to laugh. I had been to one of his book signings and his wife was there with him... Anyway we have a  lot of famous people who live in and around Camden. They live here because the aren't molested...  like some people BY a certain person. Anyway I just smile and drool when I see him now!!!

My socks that I am working on (from time to time)

So my own writing is put on hold till I get my computer back or I get another. I may have to get a used Apple till I can save up for a brand new one. I'll be working on the week-ends at an up scale clothing store  here in Camden so with my pay checks I can save for that.
